Would your parents be okay with you dating someone twice your age?

I usually go for older guys, but no more than 9 years my senior, anyway I recently found out that this guy who I turned down a few months ago, is actually old enough to be my father and if made me feel weird about it. Older guys always flirt or stare but this was was serious about a relationship and if got me thinking about how my parents would take it if I had said yes.

I didn’t know his age at the time, I turned him down because he wasn’t my type, also, he was friends with someone I had previously dated, and I mentioned that too him, I just didn’t tell him who.
