What state to live in 🙄🙄🙄

Question

Okay ladies so my husband gets out of the marines in two years and it seems forever away but I know it will fly up on us . We are currently living in Cali with NO INTENTIONS of staying here , our home state is Ohio but I don’t want to go back there . My husband wants to become a state trooper so after doing research and narrowing states down we’ve came up with 4 states . If you guys live in any of these please give your pros and cons I’d soooooo appreciate it ! (Btw for living wise we want a lot of land at least 5 acres)

I've heard cost of living is high in va near dc, so keep that in mind. There is a lot to do there being near the capital and lots of history. I used to live in Woodbridge about 20 years ago.

I really disliked living in Florida. A lot of old people, a lot of d-bags, bad drivers and a whole lot of weird. Also the bugs are frightening and the weather was too humid for my liking!
We have a place in Tennessee in Gatlinburg and love it! We go up two weeks every summer but would love to do more. Great food, nice people, southern flair without being too much, beautiful season change without being too hot or too cold and great scenery.

Virginia is beautiful! I lived there (in Charlottesville) for a while about ten years ago. Lots to do and it’s just lovely.

My sister lives in Charlotte, and being from NY, it’s a nice city and has enough around to keep busy, good schools and nice climate for the most part. Virginia is boring to me, Tennessee is too country lol. I’m in AL now but this is “too south” for me
