Confused on what to do?

Please try not to judge me, I feel bad as is.

So this guy and I have been friends for a long time and we stayed close. He dated a girl who is one of my good friends and they broke up recently. He is now talking to me and we found out we had feelings for each other, but she is still hung up on him. They were dating for a while so I told him that we can't be together right now because I really don't want to hurt her. But I have real feelings for him and vice versa and I honestly don't know what to do. If I talk to her she might never want to be friends again and idk what to do..
