Mum said I shouldn't be pregnant? What can I do?
I'm 12 weeks today and went over to see my family, thinking it would be nice to spend some time with them. When my mum suddenly started shouting at me, saying that my boyfriend was a 'bastard' for getting me pregnant. We both made this decision (to which she said was a wrong one). That our pregnancy wasn't planned and he shouldn't have gotten me into this situation (it wasn't planned but we both want to be parents). She said that I shouldn't be having this baby as we weren't ready. I've graduated from university, hold a high degree, a good job and a nice apartment. I'm 27 while my boyfriend is a couple of years younger. We also intend to get married in a couple of years when we can save for everything we want. She just sat there and shouted at me, saying how I shouldn't be having a baby as I can't afford it. That I was an idiot and shouldn't be pregnant. I sat there and completely broke down. I never expected this from her and I got defensive of my little one. Saying that I would care my child regardless of her opinion and that she was out of order with the way she was saying things about my baby. My brother then came over and was going to hit me for standing up to her and defending my baby. My dad also got screamed at for trying to protect me. I just don't know what I've done wrong. There's also been other occasions where she doesn't want me to have a midwife because I'm not turning to her for everything. I don't know what to do, but everytime I speak to her it's like she resents and hates me.
