so my boyfriend and I have been dating for about 4 months now. we started talking in February and we got together in March. he graduated high school this year (18) and I will be a sophomore this coming year (14 turning 15). my mom knows about us and let's hims hangout at my house all the time and occasionally go out for a few hours alone. she lovessss him. can he get in trouble? and do you think this is okay?

He could get into a lot of trouble if police were contacted at any point. Age of consent is usually 18+ in most states he could get charged for rape and put on a sex offends list for the rest of his life. So be very careful. Also boys are dogs so just bc it’s been 4 months doesn’t mean it says anything for him if he’s out of high school now. I hope that’s not the case at all but I’ve seen it happen countless times when I was in high school and the boyfriend was older and out to college or doing their own thing.

That’s a huge age gap for people younger than 18. He is about to start a new chapter in his life while you’re still in high school. You may be mature for your age, but that doesn’t mean that he is. You were just a freshman when you guys got together. He is about to go off to college and have new experiences and meet new people. I understand that you guys love each other, and I also understand that love in high school isn’t always the same when you’re older. Now, I know about age gaps. I’m 12 years younger than my boyfriend. I’m 20 and he’s 32. Age gaps aren’t weird exactly, but there’s a difference between an age gap when you’re a child versus when you’re an adult. I’m also pretty mature for my age. I always have been, but I still have a ton of growing up to do and I’m not the same as I was in high school. I’ve changed and so have my views and preferences (for the better). 
 Be cautious. You could be one of the miracle high school sweethearts relationships. I’m one of those miracle relationships where my bf told me he was going to marry me someday and I said yes before he even proposed. Miracles do happen and I hope the best for you and your boyfriend and that your love doesn’t fade.
However, you also might save yourself some heartache in the future if you think about the potential risks of continuing your relationship. It would be statutory rape if you were to have sex with him at your age since you aren’t even 16 yet and he’s legally an adult. You aren’t even of legal age to get your permit! Unless he’s going to college close to home, it’s not going to be easy seeing him as often as you might now.
Tbh, I find it weird myself that he would start a relationship with someone who’s wayyyy younger than him right before going off to college. He may love you, but he’s going to be meeting a lot of girls, ones that are more on his level in terms of that they have experienced more of the same things as him. They aren’t dealing with typical high school drama. College is a way different atmosphere in high school and you’re still three years away from it. 
My bf when I was a senior was a junior and right before I left for college we broke up. It was the best thing for both him and I. I got to experience my first year as a single lady and enjoy college life without being tied down. I met a lot of new people my freshman year and was really involved with school and had a ton of coursework to do. A boyfriend fit nowhere in the picture at that time. 
I know it seems like you’ll last forever and like I said, maybe you will. You’ve only been together 4 months though. It’s easy to mistake love with lust. Just remember that you are young! Relationships are great to be in, but your high school years should be spent with your gals and finding yourself! 
That’s just my two cents. However, I really do wish the best of luck with your relationship! If you guys really do love each other than all of what I’ve said won’t matter. It’s your life and it’s you’re choices that matter in it.
