REALLY don’t know where to post this

Okay I’ll make it quick.

I’m moving out of my apartment soon. During our year lease, my boyfriend locked his keys in our porch closet and busted a hole in the door in order to get them out.

Ever since I’ve wanted to replace the door because I’ve never rented before this place and have anxiety about leaving a gaping hole in the door. But I just read my lease again and it said we can’t replace anything in the apartment without consent from the landlord.

(I worry because I don’t know a landlords protocol when it comes to excessive damage to a property)

My anxiety is just SO BAD I don’t know why, we gave a hefty security deposit which would more than cover a new door, but my boyfriends argument is that they’ll overcharge us.

What should I do!?
