Anyone ever had an ECV procedure? I'd love to hear about your experience!

My kiddo has been in a transverse/breech position since 20 weeks. I am 33 weeks and being induced at 37 weeks. My OB office does these procedures often and said we can try doing it to turn him. Anyone ever have one done? What was your experience? I'm not looking for opinions because I know its a bit controversial...just honest experiences please!

No but ive heard that Spinning Babies is a great resource for you to try to turn your baby naturally...at home. Just has different exercises/positions to encourage your little bugger to shift. I recommend checking it out!! I know there are videos on YouTube.

I had one this week (36 weeks), and like someone said earlier you just need to focus and go to your happy place. It was painful, but not unbearable, and I imagine it's less of a pain than recovering from a C Section. They say the success rate is about 50/50 - unfortunately it didn't work for me, but I thought it was worth a try!

My best friend had one with her first pregnancy and it was unsuccessful. When they went in for the c section they said that the baby had the cord wrapped around her neck which is why she wouldn’t flip

I tried one with my last. They do it in the last few weeks as like another lady said, it can put you in labour or the baby can become distressed. 
It didn’t work for me, and was very painful. I wouldn’t try again if I was in the same situation

Mine was done at 37 weeks with my son and not successful. It was very painful. Some babies are stubborn, but if you don’t want a c section it’s worth a shot. 😊 Good luck.

I had it done at 36 weeks and some odd days with my second child. We did it in the office without pain medications. I was young and didn’t know the risks. It was uncomfortable to say the least but successful. I ended up in labor about a week later and had her naturally. My advice, relax before and afterwards. Take a nice warm bath before hand and go to your happy place. Wishing you luck!

I’ve helped with these procedures and honestly they are not usually successful. It can cause you to go into labour or can cause fetal distress requiring an emergency c-section. The baby can also turn back into their original position. People are usually quite uncomfortable during the procedure, which also makes it harder for success. If you are going for it, you should see if they can do it under spinal, as you don’t feel it and the uterus is a bit more relaxed, giving you a better chance at success! I haven’t done it but I’ve heard to wait until atleast 37 weeks because there’s a chance it can send you into labor.
