Were your pregnancies anything like your mothers?

So my mom was put on bed rest with both my brother and I at 28 weeks. She also had to have an emergency c-section after 23 hours of labor because I turned breech. A nurse I was taking to said alot of women take after their mother during labor and delivery which I personally think would suck as I really don't want to have major abdominal surgery but that's just me. So I'm wondering if any of you ladies have had pregnancies/births similar to your mothers?
