TMI Question

So I've had a 3 week yeast infection, it started really bad and I have treated it 5 times with monistat which usually knocks it out. It relieved most symptoms but I still had itch and white thick discharge gross. Angry that my symptoms did not go away I got desperate and just applied a&d; ointment throughout yesterday and today and also changed my underwear during the day. Within 24 hours the itch and discharge is gone, has anyone experienced this? Could the ointment really have helped or maybe a coincidence? It has been very hot and I've been sweating more so maybe the ointment kept my lady parts dry? Idk
