How to respond to “I miss you”

I’ve been talking to this guy for a couple of months.. we’ve spent a shit ton of time together. Seriously.. every other day at least. My life has been a little hectic lately so it’s now been 3 days since we’ve gotten together. Only 3 days!

He’s great and all and I don’t want to lose what we have but I know he’s a lot more lovey dovey than I am. And I’m cool having some space.

So, to the point. Earlier he texted saying he missed me but I was evasive and changed the topic. He’s awesome and we have a great time when we hang out but like I said, I enjoy my space too. I know we’ll probably hang tomo or the day after so I don’t necessarily miss him. I don’t like lying. He texted again sayin he missed seeing me with a cute emoticon. I don’t really know how to respond. Suggestions?
