How long does it take you to get over break ups?

Question

I'm currently going through the end of the only relationship I've ever had. We were together for 8 years and now I feel like I'm having to completely start my life over. The break up is still so new that I'm not even close to being over it. He ghosted me then immediately got a new gf, a girl he had been talking to while we were together. Being replaced without even a goodbye has me struggling for closure.
How long did it take you all to move on? Any advice?

It’s been 1 month and 1/2 since my first breakup too. Its a roller coaster honestly.At first you’re in denial, shock. You get confused and over analyze what went wrong. You may get depressed, so keep busy and go out often!! You then realize what went wrong and get angry that he hurt you when you did everything you could. 
You have to accept the situation or else you won’t be able to move on. Accept that he hurt you, even tho you did not deserve it.  Accept that you’ll do just fine without him and that you can be happy without him. Don’t let his decision affect your happiness. Don’t over stress something you can not control. 
When you start dating when you’re ready, You get to date a few guys and you get to be picky and look out for signs you don’t like. You’re in control this time, cuz you know what you deserve. It’s your time.

Ugh I hate guys who do that. It’s so easy for them to walk away bc they’re is someone there already. It’s bullshit when we’re here being faithful.. 
just take it a day at a time, it will hurt and you will cry sooo much but then one day it just hurts a little less and then each day that passes you feel more confident and feel less pain. 
I like to focus on myself/health/fitness during breakups bc I always come back fierce. 
Please do yourself a favor and ignore him, don’t answer if he calls or texts. Move on

Takes awhile. I feel like the pain lingers forever! However, if he can leave you once, he might do it again. He will realize what he had and try to crawl back. Move on! Find yourself again and someone will show you what love is. Keep busy and have friends/family near by. For your own sake, either get rid of all social media or block his. Delete all messages and even his contact info. Do not contact him. Leave him be and cry as much as you need to.

You are better off. He was clearly at least emotionally cheating while you were together and for me that is closure. Do you really want to be with him? Do you want to talk to him? 
Absolutely focus on yourself. Anything you couldn't do coz you were in the relationship, do it now. Get your hair done. Get a new capsule wardrobe. Travel somewhere. 
When I broke up with my ex-husband I did everything he said I couldn't do; travelled to LA, celebrated Hogmanay in Scotland, got my own place in London, got a dog. I did everything I wanted to do. And you can too! He's not holding you back anymore.

It’s going to hurt sooo bad. You’re going to feel like you weren’t good enough at first.. But you know what!? The more time you spend a part, the more you will realize why you’re better without him. 
Since he left you after 8 years, move on. He clearly has. He’s a jerk, he does not deserve your attention at all. Make yourself happy, stay busy, hangout with family and friends often. Our positives outweigh our negatives. You have a whole family and friends that love you compared to 1 selfish jerk.!!!
