I know my bf means well and he loves how I look but honestly some things he says, just observations about my body, really stick with me... he doesn’t even mean them in a bad way lol I’m just so critical

I think this happens from both people in the relationship. Especially in the early stages. People feel hurt by different things, everybody has different insecurities, and it takes time to learn what those r in a partner.
