cereal in baby's bottle?

Has anyone tried putting unflavored cereal in their babies bottle with breast milk? Was told to try this to keep her fuller longer but I'm worried it may be unsafe. She's only a week old.

cereal is a bottle is old and harmful information used in the old days.
1. cereal has zero nutritional value of any kind. so you are pumping them full of crap really.
2. it's a SERIOUS choking hazard,  that many infants have died from. (just cause many survived,  doent mean yours will).
3. absolutely NO SOLIDS before 6 months and with pediatrician approval. 
(no, regardless of what you heard, or what was told to you.. babies tummies are NOT ready for ANY solids before 6 months.  that's directly from American pediatric association.  if your pediatrician tells you it's ok to start at 4 months, they re stuck in the oldtimes and are probably above the age of 45. old times need to stay in the past. new guidelines and regulations. should be followed instead of old crap

no and I'd recommend speaking to your health visitor or pediatrician.  any solids at all should start from 6 months onwards and not really before. your baby will get everything they need from your milk or formula.  they feed often in the beggining because ethey are growing so rapidly and need the calories but their digestive system.is not mature enough to handle cereals or rice.

I literally jumped when I read she’s only a week old. Please please please do no do this, it’s a serious choking hazard, especially that young. 
Unless specifically recommended by your pediatrician your baby should have nothing but breastmilk/formula (not even water) until 6 months old. In addition baby cereal has basically no nutritional value, it is basically just filler and they are much better off having more breastmilk/formula instead.

Definitely not recommended- you may be keeping  them fuller longer but at the expense of not providing the nutrients they need to grow and develop at an appropriate rate. The current recommendation is no cereal at all or at least until 6 months. This is an old practice and has been proven unhealthy. Some people- especially with older children will tell you it worked, but it has been scientifically established as a bad way to go.

Whoever told you that is wrong. Baby’s tummy is far too small. There is no nutritional value to those cereals, it’s just empty calories. 
Also - babies eat often, that’s how they are programmed. If you feed baby less you’re risking losing your milk supply.

Who told you to do it? How long is your baby going between feeds? Starting solids before 4 months is known to increase rates of diabetes and digestive issues as well as childhood obesity.

I know all of the comments before mine are saying no— but my pediatrician did tell us the same thing. It’s a small amount to mix with milk. Call your pediatrician to see how much they want you to mix with formula/ breast milk and if it’s safe. My little one is 4 weeks and it was suggested for us. At one week I do think it’s early personally.
