Advice?

My son is turning 1 in a fortnight and the health visitor has advised to stop his formula around this time and move on to cows milk, but he still takes a lot of formula and I don’t think he’s ready to stop, especially as his formula settles him while he’s teething, unsure what to do, he’s just been taking Aptamil first milk for the year as I didn’t see the need to change to number 2 but don’t think I should still be giving him number 1 after a year? Any comments would be appreciated, thanks! ❤️

If you're unsure you could just change out one of his formula bottles to start with. Maybe keep a formula bottle for just before bedtime - I know with my children the one time was always the one I did last.
At a year old your son should be eating enough regular food to gain nutrients he needs from those, changing from formula feeding to cows milk is part of the weaning process..usually with a view to being entirely off bottles by around 18mths to 2 years old.

Cows milk isn't necessary, they make a toddler formula if you want to continue with formula.

Yeah he is getting all his nutrients from his foods and I give him the wellbaby multivitamin as well, he just still seems to want his formula throughout the day and during the night, I wasn’t sure whether to just gradually give him less and try with more cows milk, I’ve just started giving him that with cereal in the morning, but I was going to switch from the number 1 to the number 3 for ages 1-2 years and speak to health visitor again when she does her routine check up in a couple months 🤷‍♀️
