Has anyone ever had inconsistent tests before a real BFP?

My tests are all over the place, so frustrating. Anyone ever have a bfn after a BFP and still been pregnant??

With my son, I tested when I was a couple of days late and there was an extremely faint line. Went to the doctor the next day and it was negative there; was extremely frustrating. Two days later and still no period I went and grabbed a first response and did it at work- line showed up immediately. I now have a happy and healthy 6 year old :)
