cloth diapers questions!

hello ladies! I'm currently pregnant with my 2nd daughter and this time around I would like to try cloth diapering. If we did it, I would use cloth diapers while at home. At night or while out of the house we would use disposables.

I have several questions and was wondering if anyone who has experience with cloth diapers can help me. Pinterest helps but I would like to talk to real people

1. is cloth diapering worth it?

2. can you put cloth diapers on a newborn or older toddler? (aka can she wear them throughout her whole diaper-wearing life/time)

3. is cleaning the poop as easy as Pinterest makes it sound?

4. does pee leak through?

5. best brands?

6. do you need more inserts than diapers?

7. how many diapers would we need? we do laundry every other day or 2-3 times a week depending on the amount (whenever the hamper is full)

8. and finally, do you have to get a hose that attaches to your sink to clean over the toilet or can you dump the poop in the toilet and clean it in a laundry sink?

I found the cuuuutest cloth diapers on Amazon and it's making me excited to try them but I'm nervous.
