weaning cold turkey breastfeeding
I have a 19 month old baby. I've decided to wean cold turkey (for a variety of reasons). we've left our LO with her grand parents for the first time overnight and for three days . but they're staying in our house so our LO feels reassured. it seems like she's doing really well and we get pics of her smiling and laughing so I thought it would be good to wean. I guess I didn't realise how much milk she wad drinking and my breasts are soooo sore. my doctor told me to not under any circumstances express milk. he's given me painkillers . any tips you could share ? and also experience of how long it took for milk supply to diminish. also wondering how you managed to convince your toddlers that breastfeeding was over. it's so hard. I know she loves breastfeeding. has never taken my milk in a cup or bottle, hates pacifier etc. she eats loads so that's fine bit it's more the cuddle and intimacy that she likes. ..
