Baby eczema or cat allergy?

Just need an opinon of what y’all think this looks like. He developed this rash at 4 weeks old and he’s 5 weeks now.
 It started out as small bumps like acne and then turned into this.
We took him to two hospitals they diagnosed it as baby acne and then at his one month appointment we showed the doctor and she diagnosed him with eczema.
Well my mother in law thinks he’s allergic to the cat and wants to get rid of our cat the reason she thinks this is because I’m somewhat allergic to cats and dogs and it might be hereditary.

Eczema is exacerbated by allergies. Just because it’s eczema doesn’t mean it’s not a cat allergy

Make another appointment with the pediatrician and express those concerns.

Maybes it’s a milk allergy? I know a cows milk allergy can cause a rash or eczema rash..

That looks more like eczema to me. I’m very allergic to animals (even though I have several of them lol), but my hives never look like that. The doc who said it was eczema, did he give you any kind of cream to put on it?

I’d take him to a different doctor for another opinion. Not a hospital but a different pediatrician

I’d try the cream and see if it works, if not definitely go back but it looks like eczema to me as well.

Is it only on his face and neck, or his whole body?  An allergy to an exposure to something like cat dander would (typically) be more systemic (while body), vs a localized reaction like head/neck.

I’m allergic to cats and my hives don’t look like that, plus his eyes are not swollen and he would be VERY uncomfortable and swatting at his face with an allergic reaction of that severity if those were all hives. IMO that looks like bad baby acne and eczema.
