Spinal tap?

Does a spinal tap hurt less than an epidural? Or what is the pain scale when comparing the two? I ask because I’ve had a spinal tap and it was extremely painful but they also had a hard time finding fluid and had to keep moving the needle around and in/out.

I have had both and definitely say spinal tap was wayyyyy worse than my epidural. Didn’t feel my epidural go in at all x

Everyone freaks out over the epidural needle. I didn’t even look at it. But I was have contractions while they were giving me the epidural so I don’t know if it hurt that much or I was just contracting too much to tell

spinal is one and done. epidural is a catheter that they can continue to add pain meds to. epidural hurt but not as bad as I expected. the numbing stuff beforehand stung like a motherf***er to me
