Midwives couldnt fit me in ??? **AUSTRALIA**

Question

So I booked in early in my pregnancy to see a midwife and the only appointment they gave me was at 20 weeks... I have a subchorionic heamatoma and called back and let them know and they said there was nothing they could do to fit me in any earlier but booked me in to see a doctor ?? I don't want to see a doctor, I have no reason to I just wanted a check up and to ask questions to a midwife. Is this late for a first appointment ? Should I get an OB? Or should I just wait ???
Edit: people are asking who diagnosed me with a heamatoma. 
I have at three scans done and on every one of them the doctor who looks them over has said on the report that I have a SCH. 
I have then taken the scans to my GP where they have confirmed I have.

Are you going through the public system? That does sound really late - I would want to see someone earlier too, especially with a SCH (I had one too and it was worrying). I think if you’re having any complications like that it’s always best to see an OB and not just a midwife.

Call the birthing suite to ask questions. I am from Australia too and someone will answer you. I also had this issue with my last bub and it dissolved on it's own. xx

You can see an ob until then, you don’t have to stick with an ob, just until your midwife is ready to see you

If this is your first appointment who diagnosed the hematoma? Maybe go back to them for a check up?

Omg I'm in Australia and I called and called and called and was persistent. They're useless this year. When I had my daughter last year they were more efficient.

My first antenatal app was past 2” wks ( Australia, Perth - Fiona Stanley hospital ) but anytime I had a concern I just visited the 24 hr maternal fetal assessment unit at the hospital n they were great

see a dr and get referred to the fetal medicine unit. do this asap as you will have to wait a week or two as it is to see them, but they are a lot more through.
