How many IUI before moving on?

Good morning! I was supposed to get my beta done today (our 3rd 
IUI)but woke up to a lovely surprise. My period. My husband and I have done Clomid and trigger shot for all 3 IUIs as well as one cycle of timed intercourse. He has morphology issues, which is why we’ve had a hard time (2 years) getting pregnant naturally. How many IUIs did y’all do before moving into IVF or how many IUIs did you do before getting your BFP? This is so draining!

we are about to move on to our 3rd. I originally said I'd do 4, but I think we might move on if the 3rd doesn't work. just got a bfn at 12dpiui, it's my birthday so I decided to test hoping the universe would bring me a sweet gift, but it looks like Aunt Flow will be bringing her gift later in the week 😔 I'm so over TTC. it's killing me emotionally. I do so great until the end of the cycle and then I just fall into depression because we've done everything and now have perfect numbers and perfect timing and still no pregnancy. I feel like I won't get pregnant unless I force my body into it.

My husbands morphology was low too but sperm count and motility normal (on the cusp).....I repeatedly asked me RE if morphology would delay the BFP of IUI and she said NO....I still don’t understand why she’s not concerned. She said they only pick the healthy sperm to be injected IUI. 
 
I am curious what your RE recommended or suggested??

We did 2. One unsuccessful and one successful that ended in a d and c. We had recurrent miscarriages, 4, so we moved on to ivf. 31 weeks now with our little miracle. Best of luck to you!!

I think it depends on your diagnosis. My husband has retrograde ejaculation (sperm goes into his bladder), so we zero chance of conceiving naturally. So we have been treating each IUI attempt as if it’s an attempt with intercourse for a normal couple, in our minds. A normal couple might take 6 or 8 attempts if all the conditions are right. We have done 3 IUIs so far. The first one was unmedicated and unmonitored, BFN. The second one was also unmedicated and unmonitored, and for some reason I failed to ovulate, BFN. The third one was clomid + trigger with a couple mature follicles, BFN. The third one has been the only one where all the conditions were right, but as you know, sometimes IUI still doesn’t work under perfect conditions. I’m heartbroken and financially pretty broke, but we are going to keep trying this way for at least 3 more tries.

We had 4 total. We also used a sperm donor since my husbands counts were low.  Maybe look into that ?
