When can I take a bath?

Do I have to wait the full 6 weeks to take one or no? I’m 3 weeks PP and just got a place with a bathtub! (Last place had a stand up shower) I’m dying to have a relaxing bath.

My dr said I should be taking 2-3 sitz baths a day after vaginal delivery to help healing.

I was told to wait the 6 weeks with my vaginal birth. I could take a sitz bath but not a normal bath.

There’s no restriction on having a bath. I had a planned section with my last pregnancy and I was told by my midwife to go for a bath and I was only 5 days pp!

The midwife ran me a bath in the hospital a few hours after I delivered my baby daughter. It felt so good to sit in the water and wash everything away! So yeah, I’m pretty sure you can have a bath anytime - definitely helped keep everything clean around the stitches.

Apparently baths are fine because it helps with healing. I didn’t know that until I was 5 Weeks pp and I looked at my self healing papers the hospital gave me
