Baby shower help.

I'm currently in the process of planning my baby shower, well my sister is planning it. I'm having a difficult time with some of her choices. I've waited for this day for so long and she's getting rid of everything I want because she says there are too many people being invited. So my question is have any of you had or hosted larger baby showers, with 40 or more people? She said no games because there's too many people, and I don't think everyone would play. She wants to do a potluck, and I think that's tacky and her list of food that she plans on making is food I can't eat. And she said no invites because it would be too hard to send them out. She also just keeps saying everything will be too expensive but I didn't ask her to pay for anything and already said my husband and I would pay. So give me some success stories from larger showers ladies!
