ADHD?

Question

Does anyone have a young child with ADHD? My sons father has it and I’m thinking my son has it. My question is what were the symptoms you experienced and what medication did you get them on. I’m currently in the process of getting my son tested and I just want to pull my hair out. So stressful 😨😭

I wasnt diagnosed until I was in my early teens but my 3rd grade teacher suspected I had ADHD because I couldnt focus. My mom didnt believe her because I was never hyper but I got tested for a wide range of mental illnesses and guess what? Its ADD. My brother has ADHD (with hyperactivity) and it shows. He's unmedicated and he gets in trouble at school for moving around and not listening

My son has ADHD an is on Focalin XR. He was diagnosed around 5 an is fixing to turn 7 the beginning of the year. He can’t sit still, constantly feet in the chair, standing up, sitting down, turning circles in the chair, can’t stay looking at one thing longer than a few seconds, loses focus Easley, talks non stop but stutters bad. An there’s more, pretty sure he’s OCD too.

I dont have a child that has it but i am 22 and i do. ADHD , ODD , Bipolar etc . As i child i was on meds they made me feel groggy and not like myself . When i was around 13 i took myself off which wasnt a good or bad idea i just cant stay still as an adult always fidgeting and moving and finding things to play with or mess around with . Maybe try to find something that keeps the childs attention ?? I like puzzles , coloring , writing anything to keep me still lol . I dont know if ADHD turns into other things but i am being put back on meds per my own choice . Good luck !!!

My son was diagnosed with it, I refused the meds and not away all red dyes because I noticed my son was 1000 times worse after red dyes like gummies and we put him in an omega supplement. To deal with it we gave him things he would focus on like legos and his teachers give him things to fidget with at school like a rubber band on the bottom of his chair so he always had something to play with. My son has since been diagnosed with O.D.D. and depression which can stem from adhd well not the depression pre say but that’s from other life events. Oh my dr also said they need like 30-60 minutes of constant play outside like intense playing.

my oldest has ADHD, her first symptoms were if she couldnt control herself she would start smashing her head in things and that's when she was maybe 2 she has been in counseling since...about 2 yrs ago a doctor(who told me not to put her on meds for the longest time) actually stated that my child cannot function in a day to day life without being medicated because she cannot control her mind or actions. today she is 9 yrs old and takes 15mg of focolin(spelling?) in the morning and another 15 at 1 sp she is able to focus during school/do her homework. she literally talks all day long even on meds gets worse and more annoying off of them(insulting, talking back, and worse) she sees her doc every 3 months and has 2 counclers twice a week. I'm almost positive she has bipolar too we have a meeting coming up to rule out bipolar and autism. pretty much every day is a struggle, depending on the  mood she wakes up in determines on how she will be that day. she also lashes out randomly all the time too. when she was younger and not medicated she used to have these fits where she was uncontrolable(at 3) and I would have to actually restrain her from doing physical harm against herself or others. I'm not saying that all kids that have ADHD are like this I'm just telling you my experience

How old is he? Doctors want to diagnose very young and I don't think it's good. My sister has it, legitimately. But young kids are Spacey and hyper and it's usually just age.
