Rude Nurse

Idk but it's my opinion that nurses don't need to be giving their opinions about my pregnancy and what I get done during it if it's going to be an unprofessional opinion that has nothing to do with the health of my baby. I went in to my appointment today already planning to get my genetic testing bloodwork done since my OB informed me at my last appointment that my insurance will pay for it this go around ( I solely have Medicaid now and with my first I had blue cross blue shield which only paid for medically necessary things so I didn't get it last time) and I had a nurse come to do my vitals, one that I have had many times before from all my appointments from my former pregnancy and I really liked her. She asks if I'm still planning to do my genetic testing today to which I reply yes and ask how long it would be till I receive the results. She says 7-10 days then tries to add into the conversation that there are these blood tests you can order for less than a hundred dollars and find the gender out that way to which I respond that I already know bit since I'm getting the genetic testing done which is paid for I'm not opting to buy one. She goes "yeah this testing costs $8000" me and my friend that I brought we're like yikes! at least I don't have to pay it and my nurse goes "yes well the government shouldn't have to pay that just so people can find out the gender early". EXCUSE ME?? What testing I do and why is actually none of your business. I didn't reply to her but she continues to ask me the questions she has to ask about my family's medical history and I tell her the truth! I'm adopted and don't know my family medical history, that's why we're getting the genetic testing done!! Some people really need to keep their opinions to themselves until they know the full story although I am still very excited to be finding the gender out early! We would have paid the $75 ourselves to get the early gender scan done like I did with my first if the genetic testing didn't already tell me the gender!! Ugh 🙄
