Naps?

How many naps are your 6 month olds taking during the day. Also, how long do they sleep. For the past week it has been a struggle to get my baby to nap. We were doing really well with 2 naps a day until this week.

The last two weeks have been a struggle for us to get our 6 month old to nap as well. He used to do 3 naps ranging from 30-45 minutes each. Now he is down to one or two, maybe for a total of 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. He seems much more aware and doesn’t want to turn it off and nap. Guess this is the new normal?!

Every day is different. Sometimes it’s several 10-15 min ones. Sometimes 2 30 min ones. Sometimes one long 2-3 hour one. They sleep when they’re tired, just watch for the signs. Unfortunately, they don’t care if you’re tired lol.

I follow her lead and she usually gets very tired and cranky if she doesn't get 4 40 minute naps or 3 (2 that are 40 minutes and 1 that's 2 or 3 hours). She's always needed a lot of naps.  Wakes up between 7 and 8 am and goes to bed at 8pm. I hold her for sm her naps except the first one.

Anywhere from 2-4 naps, usually 30 minutes-1 hour (I can get one 2-3 hour nap if I lay down with her). She usually sleeps through the night (goes down anywhere from 8:30-9:30) and is up by 8 am. The last few nights she’s been getting up at 3 (hey-o teething stage 😭) but I can just nurse her and put her back down. Her little catnaps during the day I usually just hold her for since they’re so short. Sometimes I’ll transfer her to the swing (if I can without waking her up!) She used to nap really well to- 1-2 hour naps 3 times a day, didn’t fight them, napped in her swing so I could get stuff done. Then one day she started fighting them! Now I just look for her cues and signs that she’s ready for a nap!

I just follow what my little one wants. Usually ends up at 3 naps around 30-60mins each (roughly at 10:30am, 1:30pm & 4:30pm). She goes to bed at around 7:30pm and wakes once or twice before we are up at around 8:30am.
