Convertible car seat?

Dumb question... 
Wondering when we move out of the infant car seat and get a convertible seat do we need multiple seats for each car?
I’m guessing yes but idk if I could easily just move it to the other car or if that’s a pain.

Not absolutely but it is much much easier to leave convertible seats installed in each car instead of switching back and forth. Some convertible seats are quite heavy and most are a lot more work to install than infant seats.

If you can’t afford an extra $200-$300 on another car seat then definitely just buy 1. My husband and I have 2. But we never use his truck, so it’s barely getting used. 
Also I moved my son out of his infant seat when he could sit up on his own. I moved him around 6-8 months. He was getting to heavy to carry around.

We are buying one next week my son will be 5 months. He’s 27” and 13 lbs so he can still fit in his infant seat it just seems so small! We are getting the safety’s first grow and go it’s $140 so we will buy 2 one for each car .

It depends on how often you’d need it for the other car. I never needed a second with my first daughter but we’ll need a second for this baby

Yes! Get separate if you can afford it ! If not then go in store and find one that isn’t so bulky and heavy so you can easily switch between cars

Most convertible car seats start at 5lbs.
If you switch vehicles alot,it is alot easier to have 2 car seats.
My son had 3 at one point,now he has 2 car seats so we dont have to switch cause uninstalling and installing car seats is a pain in the ass

You can switch any time or wait until baby max's out of the infant seat. Most convertible seats are suitable for even newborn babies. I'd definitely recommend a seat for each car, it's a pain to switch and once you have it installed properly, it's best to leave it

It's a personal preference. We switched to a convertible seat at 4 months. Our daughter is now 15 months and we still only have one. Also keep in mind that if you have one in each car and someone gets into a car accident, you still have to replace that car seat even if your child wasn't in it. So to me, it just doesn't make sense to buy a second car seat just to hang out in my husband's truck. We have one in my Jeep since that's the car our daughter is primarily in (and the car that we typically take when my husband is off work) and if we ever need to, we switch it to the truck.

We never brought a second car seat didn’t see the point, when youngest was baby just moved it to my SO car when needed to.
