Do you get annoyed when people put their dogs loose in the back of their pickup trucks

I am always gritting my teeth when I see this. If the driver has to slam on the brakes, the dog could go flying!😥 I always hope that the police will stop them!

I get annoyed when there are loose dogs in vehicles in general. They make seatbelts for them for a reason. Use them. I even buckle up my cats carriers

If we’re just going down the lane on our property back to the woods they ride in the back anything longer or above 10 mph is a no go

I think there are more important things to worry about. 
I bring my dogs everywhere, on our boat, on our RZR, in the truck, ect, and it’s been a complete non-issue for several years (given, our dogs are short/little and not at risk of falling out) but if anything, they fall on their butts, or lay down if they don’t feel stable. 
 
There’s a lot more going on in the world than worrying about a dog in a truck, especially for cops to be wasting time on. If someone loves their dogs enough to train them to stay in the truck, then they love the dog enough to consider their safety

Yes. I don’t care how “well-behaved” you think your dog is. My cousin’s dog has been through many behavioral training courses and is the best dog I’ve ever seen. All you have to do is snap your fingers and she sits and stays until you snap them again. Super well-trained. 
My cousin took her for a ride and put her in the back of his truck. They were going about 30mph down a road when she saw a yard with other dogs in it. She jumped out of the moving truck to get to those dogs! Luckily she was totally fine, but imagine the dogs that don’t get so lucky?? 
Your animals should be in the cab, with you, where they are safe.

I hear about a case of a dog (often more than one) that jumped out of a truck bed or fell out pretty much every week from my colleagues in the small animal by world. And I’d say 95% it those dogs had been riding around in the truck bed for years prior to said incident. Most dogs end up costly the owner a ton of money for surgical repairs and in many cases the poor dog ends up euthanized. 
So yes it drives me nuts. Securing your animal properly should be mandatory and people should be fined for having loose animals in a vehicle. It not only protects them from serious injury and death. It also protects you, anyone in your car as well as other people on the road (there are so many cases of a dogs jumping/falling out of truck beds into the road and getting hit by another car or someone tries to avoid your dog and ends up seriously hurt- all of which is legally your fault by the way).

I dont like it, i dont think its safe. I took a pic of a shepherd in the bed of a truck on THE HIGHWAY and i sent it to my fiancé like pls tell me this isn’t legal what if the doggo falls out 😩

You can have good dogs that stay where they are suppose to, but you never know what’s going to happen. Dogs can be unpredictable, other cars can be unpredictable, it’s just better to be safe than sorry. 
And I don’t count tying them up in the back as being safe. Dogs get drug down the street that way. My own dog, who is very well behaved, saw something that made him excited and he jumped. (Out of a car window, not even a truck bed) He was dangling by his leash until someone was honking at me to stop. Thankfully it wasn’t very long and I wasn’t going very fast. Just going through an intersection. 
BUT! The point is, I had never had issues before, but he was UNPREDICTABLE and was just being a happy dog that saw something exciting. 
If you “have” to have your dogs in a truck bed, AT LEAST strap a dog crate back there.

I get instant anxiety if I’m behind a truck or car and the dog is just in the bed or half hanging out the window. If the dog can put both front paws out of the window and half it’s body it can jump out.
