Are the names Everly and Evelyn too similar?

We chose the name Evelyn for our coming baby (we don't plan to find out the sex) when I was pregnant the second time but I miscarried shortly after .. A month later my cousin had a baby girl and named her Everly .. I am pregnant again and we still really love the name Evelyn (meaning "Wished for") especially after our loss and it goes so well with big sisters name (Eleanora) .. I just don't want people to get the wrong impression and think we were trying to copy my cousin (we aren't really that close .. It just isn't my style to do that kind of thing) .. Are they too similar? Should we go back to the drawing board?

Glad I read the description and didn't just vote. Yes they are similar But you should totally still name your daughter that. It's not the same name and if you guys aren't super close...why let that be stolen from you?? There's two amandas in my family. We dont think anything of it honestly so girl name that baby what you want! :)

I answered the poll saying yes without reading first. I thought you were referencing siblings in which case yes too similar.
But if we’re talking cousins I’d say no, they’re not too similar and you should go for it

Yes, they're similar. It doesn't matter at all. In my family, there were three "James". They each had a different nickname. No one cared, especially them. Also, several girls had the same middle name. It's your choice on what to name baby, stick with it.

Its fine. Our oldest is named Ariana and my husbands cousin finally had a girl after 3 boys and named her Aliana... We never thought anything of it when they picked her name.
