Am I masturbating wrong?

So lately whenever I masturbate my fingers get itchy afterwards and I don’t understand why. I’m generally a clean person and I always wash my hands afterwards but I don’t understand it gets so itchy that my skin gets pealy. So my thought is maybe I’m doing it wrong because I just started trying it this year and before I know I was doing it too fast because then I’d make myself bleed. So I really don’t know what it is. Or is it some medical thing that’s happening. Should I just use a vibrator instead of my fingers? I would have used one earlier but I’m in a dorm so I don’t want to be loud or oblivious about it. Does anyone have a solution?
