Epidural Back Pain
I’m 10 weeks postpartum and I’ve been dealing with severe occasional pain in my back right where the epidural was administered. It seems to only flare up when my back is arched or any time I’m straining my back in general. For instance, when I attempted to do plank exercises my back felt like it was going to snap in half right at the epidural spot and I collapsed almost immediately. When I tried doing sit-ups, crunches, or other ab exercises ( especially ones where I’m laying down and trying to raise my legs up) I get the same horribly painful back-breaking sensation in that one spot. Even just standing on my tip toes and reaching for something on a high shelf causes the pain. It’s also painful to the touch if I just rub that area.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Is this normal? I thought it would go away with time, but it’s not getting better and I’m worried this is permanent ☹️
