Thinking about IVF

I have had two ectopic pregnancies this year that have been treated with methotrexate. I will be having laparoscopic surgery in October to find out what is going on. If they find something they'll take it out and we'll try again naturally before turning to IVF but I don't think I want to try again naturally. I have been through so much pain and emotional stress this year from those ectopics that I am afraid I can't deal with another one. Has anyone been through something similar, and if so what did you choose? I am afraid to try IVF because I don't do well with medications but after the surgery it feels like my only option because of the strain the ectopics have put on me this year.
