Moving away with shared custody?

I have an eleven year old daughter with my ex husband. My husband and I have two other children. I share custody with my ex.

The town we live in is economically depressed. 58% literacy rate in public schools. It’s not ALL bad, but definitely not the “ideal” place to raise a child. It’s also where my family and my daughters dad live.

However, my husband is an IT tech, and there is just not much demand for his position around here. We’re struggling. He’s been offered jobs by friends-but we would have to relocate about 4 hours away.

Does anyone here share custody with someone that they live that far away from? How does it work? What were your challenges?

Of course my main concern with working this out is keeping her relationship with her dad solid. He and I have always Co-parented fairly well together, and their relationship is important to me.

Thanks for any suggestions and tips!!
