Anyone have a morning wedding?

I’m getting married next November, we originally planned for May but as we live in Florida we quickly realized the weather was too rainy to bet on it, plus we started dating in November 2014. We are Disney lovers, and plan on having an Epcot wedding, only problem is the only time slot is 9 AM. After we plan on having a brunch/lunch private dining at a nearby Disney restaurant with all of our guests. After that, we plan on letting most guests go home (whoever wants to stay can), as well have about a 6-7 hour gap until we plan on having a dessert party inside Epcot to watch the fireworks in our own private area. My only worry is, is it strange to have such an early ceremony? Also, does this time gap sound too weird? We were thinking of just having immediate family attend the dessert party so we don’t leave our guests on their own all day, but we’d also like them there. Advice?

The time gap really depends. I've been to weddings where there was nothing to do during that time and it was kind of annoying, but since you'll be at Epcot, I think people might enjoy having that extra time to spend in the parks. The only thing about a 9:00am wedding is that you will have to get up really early to get ready, but if you don't mind, then go for it. It's not ideal, but if it's what works, then people will understand. They are there to support you!

I don’t think the time gap is weird. I got married on a Saturday morning. It was more intimate with less people invited. I had my reception the next day with everyone invited!

I had a 10 am wedding and loved it.
However I’ve been to weddings with time gaps and hated every single one of them. It’s so boring as a guest. What do you even do? I’ve only ever heard guests talk about time gaps negatively. Nobody likes them.

That kind of wedding would be a dream come true for me!  You will definitely have to get up extremely early for a morning wedding but I'd say go for it!
I'd also take a look at disboards.com which is an online Disney forum.  They have a board that is all about planning a Disney wedding and lots of people share their experiences, photos and tips.  I actually just read one not too long ago of someone who had a wedding plan similar to yours and found it very informative.

I grew up Catholic so I’m very comfortable with what we refer to as the “Catholic gap” for weddings. All wedding ceremonies growing up were early in the day, then there was a 3-4 hour gap where we all went to someone’s home and chatted, then an evening reception. I didn’t experience an immediate reception til I was an adult.  Personally it’s not my favorite way of attending a wedding, but at a place like Disney it could be cool!
