People judging celebs

Do you think people have the right to criticize celebrities because they put their life in the public. People are so brutal to celebs and a lot of them think they have the right because they chose this life. Some people are so hurtful though and they wouldnt say that to someone in the store so why do you think people judge them for every little thing. Is it jealously, cause everyone else is doing it or what? And do you think its Okay cause "they choose this life"
