What it’s really like to give birth?

Question

I’m not scared to give birth, me and my partner have been trying for a baby since my second miscarriage in 2013. 
I’m 25 weeks Friday and as it comes closer to her being born i just want to know what the pain is like giving birth. 
I know not everyone will have the same story or pain threshold but it would be good to at least have an insight 😊 
My pain threshold is fairly good, unless it’s toothache! 😂 
I know I have 15 weeks to go but I want to be prepared 😂

Don't listen to other people's birthing stories, some are good and some are horrific. The only thing I will say though, after birth you forget all about the birth. You will always remember it hurt, but you'll never remember exactly how much. Adrenaline gets you through. Once your baby is here you will be so fixed on your baby that the birth won't matter anymore, and soon enough it will seem like a distant memory.

I don’t have a very high pain threshold so I was scared of l&d. I did have an epidural at about 7-8cm dilated but honestly it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Lots of pressure when it was time to push and some burning type of pain (but bearable) when her head/shoulders came out. I pushed for about an hour, the doctor and nurses kept telling me I was a superstar and did amazing. Guess I’m not a big wimp after all haha! Good luck!!

The contractions hurt like a bitch and I pushed for 4 hours. That hurt as well. But the adrenaline rush was amazing. I would do it over and over and over just to experience the birth of my daughter again. It was a total outer body experience. I loved it even though at the time i remember screaming "I will never fucking do this again" to my husband lol. But i will totally do it again!

Like other ladies have said its meddy, you'll be a sweating mess & in pain, i did it all on just gas/air alone. It's the most amazing feeling in the world to hold your baby after & you forget about all the aches & pains when you're cuddling your little one💗Good luck hun, it's an incredible/amazing experience you'll ever do x

Birth day is like my favorite:
My first I was induced 2 weeks early due to high blood pressure. 6 hours later and like 2 pushes he was here. 
Everyone is so nice, you get gifts and food, and you get to meet your baby 😍 seriously the best 
My daughter can the day before her due date on her own. 7-8 hours of labor and 39 minutes of pushing 
I’m pretty sure I pooped with both and needed stitches with both but no on really talked about it. Epidurals with both and I got to nap during labor:
The first shower after labor is like a-mazing! As is the first meal 
The only thing I really hated was they wouldn’t give me water which is just crazy to me and the Getting poked for blood. 
Contractions hurt but if you get meds it’s easy

I wanted all the drugs, which I didn't expect! I live in UK and I really appreciated the gas/air and had a pain shot in my last hour of labour... No epidural since I was doing well without, they kept telling me that doctor 'was on the way'.... ha. Giving birth seriously felt like a huge bowel movement. I did feel strong and determined at the end. It's a real mess ever bodily fluid all over the place I'm afraid. I actually wore a headband over my eyes to tune out  when I was labouring which helped loads.

Honestly I didn't find it that bad the worst part for me is as you push the head out the slide back a little. It didn't hurt just felt really uncomfortable as the outer part of me were being stretched and as she had some hair she felt slightly rough. I had no ring of fire nothing. Tbh I felt quite numb (I could feel textureand shape... Hard to explain) , And I was completely natural. The main difference I've noticed between my delivery and a lot of others was my position. I was on my knees leaning up the back of the bed while it was sat up, so gravity did a lot of the work for me and was actually helping me push my daughter out. Dw no you won't sit on your baby no they won't fall ect. it is more than safe and I found I actually moved away as my baby came out and the midwife supported her as she was born. The trickiest part was turning around so I could hold my baby without getting caught in the cord as I did delayed cord clamping, b t even that was simple enough haha

I loved giving birth! It was so exciting knowing that my baby was coming. 
My labour started with my waters breaking at 4 am (GUSHES of water, which then kept gushing every time I had a contraction for the next couple of hours). I had period pain-level contractions for a couple of hours, but I managed to go back to sleep for a bit. Went to hospital a few hours later, kept having moderate contractions. I was happy and excited and also calm. It felt great! I was just breathing through contractions and I felt very powerful and in control.
I was given pitocin to speed things up; after about an hour/90 minutes it REALLY kicked in and the pain eventually became unbearable. I couldn't see or hear anything because the pain was SO intense. Such a crazy experience. I begged for and was given the epidural, which was FABULOUS! It was like the clouds cleared and the sun came out, I could see and hear again and had the space to be happy instead of stressed! My husband and I had a nap together and 4 hours later I was ready to push. I felt no pain during pushing, only pressure. It felt exactly like pooing out a watermelon 😂 SO big and round! I had a small episiotomy (2 stitches), and a final huge push and my baby arrived! Hands down the very MOST amazing moment of my life; I still get teary thinking about it, two years later.
I did have to sit on a haemorroid pillow for a couple of weeks because of the epi - that was annoying. The stitches were just right where I sat.
