Do you still carry your toddler in a carrier?

My baby carrier says 0-24moths but I struggle to carry my 9 month in it he's so heavy. Just wondered if people carrier older toddlers and how do you manage the weight?

I still do - all the time. Can’t use the baby björn anymore because the weight is all on the shoulders but i got a sunveno with a hipseat - that was amazing. The weight is much better distributed and the whole carrier is really light and functional. But soon we’ll have to get a buggy stroller...

We had to stop at 4 months because I got pregnant again and having her on my belly was painful 😂 otherwise we’d still be using our carrier!

I have two baby carriers. One is a Baby Björn which my almost 10 mths old is getting too heavy for but I think i can move better with that one. The weight is on my shoulders and it doesn’t take long before I need to to switch. I also have a ring sling and that works great because the weight is distributed to my one shoulder and hip. Makes a huge difference. Are your babies crawling, pulling to stand? My baby scoots but doesn’t crawl and I’m starting to think maybe I carry him to much. He’s pulling to stand but still weak.

I love my ergo baby carrier. I use it if I am shopping in smaller stores (no cart or stroller) or if I take the dog for a walk by myself (easier than pushing stroller with leash in my hand - my dog is 70 lbs) or if we go somewhere crowded like the zoo. When she was smaller I used it all the time at the mall, the grocery store etc. I will still use it at dog park and similar situations for a long time just not nearly as often as when she was tiny.

If your referring to wearing the baby in a backpack/front carrier, yes I do still with my 9 month old. As far as car seat carriers go, I don't because she has reached the height limit so I switched to a convertible car seat. All car seats should have a weight/height maximum not just an age

I carried my first child in a carrier for 2 years. I’m still using a carrier for my 9 month old now. I manage the weight fine. I use the boba 4g and the ergobaby.
