shooting NEAR school. lockdown issue.

so just curious your thoughts and input.

Friday in my city there was an incident between two people. one pulled out a gun and shot the other and he died soon after at the local hospital.

the suspect ran and police believed he was hiding in a building on the corner of two streets. this happened at 11am.

the high school just shy of viewing this was put on lockdown. the school has multiple building where students need to walk outside to get to.

by 8 PM the police and SWAT team deemed it safe enough to get the kids on school busses and sent a mile away to the middle school where parents could pick up.

there was a mix of thoughts on this:

the kids are safer in school while this was happening.

the kids should have been let out earlier from the opposite side of the building on a different street, because it's safter at home.

by the time they moved the kids the shooter had still not been caught.

what are your thoughts? food and water was given out at dinner time.

should they have kept them till 8pm?
