Self Harm scars

A couple years ago I struggled with depression, anorexia and self harm. I have been clean for almost 5 years but the scars still linger. I'm thinking about getting tattoos to cover it up but I've never been big on tattoos until i recently started thinking about it, so I'm afraid I may regret it. I'm also not sure if tattoos could cover these up good enough. Sorry for the photos, just wanted to show for reference for a tattoo. The 1st if my right arm the the last 2 are my left arm. Any other suggestions are welcome, and I'd also love to see your cover ups if you've had any done. I have a 2 year old son and I dont want him to see my arms like this.
