Toddler bed?

Question

When did you change from a crib to a toddler bed? My son is 2 and so far has no interest in climbing out of his crib. I always said when he climbed out we would change him over. So far he fell out once maybe 6 or more months ago and hasn’t done it since.

We did it at 18 months and he transitioned to unit with no problems. Then he hit the 18 month regression and it was a three week process to get him used to it again. But I LOVE that he can get in and out by himself in the mornings and stuff.

We transitioned at 18 months and didn't have any problems until this last month when she's been waking up and taking off her clothes and then putting on every article of clothing she can. I took 5 shirts off of her the other day.

I suggest goin as long as possible in a crib. I transitioned my twins to their toddler beds around 20 months and it’s definitely harder. On the days where I’m just over it, I wish I could just put them in their cribs to take a breather... but my twins were always climbing out, even with sleep sacs on so it was definitely safer to transition them

Wait for as long as is safe. Sleep training is exhausting. I agree with the other poster- she no longer takes naps. At all. Ever. And as soon as the sun is up, she comes straight into my room

Wait. Every time I've transitioned, nap time becomes pretty much non existent and bedtime is awful, especially when they're 2.5-3. My second son we kept in a crib until he was almost 4. He fell out once around age 2 and that was it. He was so good at bedtime. As soon as we switched to a bed, guess what lol
