Apply for WIC?

Im in illinois, me and my fiance arent planning on getting married for a few years yet, but we are due to have our baby and he owns our home. Im curious as to anyone who knows more about the WIC process and the pros of applying, if you can be denied etc... Any opinions or experiences would be greatly appreciated❤

It’s nice if you have absolutely nothing or if the baby is already here and you need formula/food, etc, but otherwise it’s not really worth it in my opinion.
