Do you have stubborn toddlers

Question

So do you have stubble on toddlers? The kind were you can tell them not to, or smack there hand or put in time out and they still keep doing the same active such as in plugging cords from the wall or playing chef in the dog food & water
And if so what do you do to get them to understand that not a good thing to do..asking for a friend I think she at her wits end

Sounds like my son lol tdumps the dogs food into his water, throws, and mosti recently says “bad words”. We do time out but if he refuses I take something away like his favourite show, chocolate milk etc. And it’s gone for the day. 
I always talk to him after and do my best to say what is wrong and that it’s not very nice. He knows he shouldn’t and will say sorry blah blah but he’s 2 so it’s a lot hoping he’ll grasp something I’ve said. 
Mostly praying for more patience 😬

Every toddler is stubborn. But hitting them isn't the way to get them to listen to you 🤷🏻‍♀️ our 15-month-old is an excellent listener at this point and she's never once been smacked in any way. Nor has she ever gone in time out. We use redirection and actively teach her right from wrong. We also keep things (like the dog's food and water dish) out of reach when she's awake so those things aren't even an issue during our day.
