Panic attack from copper iud ?’

Hello i was diagnosed with panic disorder since august and i had my first panic attack on july 25th and ever since ive had panic attacks non stop everyday and i got my iud june 1st ..... so after searching for ways to get rid of panic disorder or to at least help and what could be causing them ive seen something where a bunch of girls have said their copper iud caused them horrible panic attacks and after they took it out they felt fine has anyone experinced this !?

I haven't. The copper iud isn't hormonal, so how would it be affecting panic attacks?

A year ago my doctors and I were considering removing my Jaydess (hormonal) because I  had suddenly started getting frequent very bad panic attacks a few months after insertion, when in theory it should've been kicking in. In the end,  we left it in because there was simply no way to know for sure and the IUD was making me bleed so much less that my overall physical health was much better (I bled so much before that I was badly chronically anemic, to the point of needing transfusions). I worked with my psychiatrist to deal with things that had been there and my conclusion is that the hormones may or may not have contributed,  but having panic attacks mean there's something that needs to be dealt with one way or another. 
I wish you luck. Panic and anxiety disorder really and truly suck, but if you put yourself to it, you can get past it!

I’ve had panic disorder since I was 17 but it started when I went on the pill. I’ve now had the copper iud for about a month and a half and I don’t see an increase or decrease but if anything I’ve felt better being off the hormonal birth control. I can’t see how the copper iud would cause them because it’s non hormonal. It could be other factors causing it such as just changes in hormones if you used to be on a hormonal birth control and have now stopped it.

Sorry to hear about your panic attacks. I read about this too, but haven't experienced it myself with my copper iud.  You could see if there are other things in your life that may have triggered it and definitely see a psychologist or psychotherapist if you can, they can help you improve your quality of life/ help you to deal with the panic attacks. But if your gut feeling tells you it is the iud, get it removed and see if you feel better!
