Medicaid denied??
I recently started stopped working when I found out I was pregnant back in August. My former job was in a factory, heavy lifting manual labor etc etc.
My husbands bring home pay is $2,274, the limit for Medicaid in our state is $3,054 for a family of 4 so we/ and our worker at our maternity clinic thought we would qualify.
Well I got the denial letter today and it says we exceed the income limits. So I called my Medicaid worker (a different woman than at the clinic) and she told me they go off gross income, not net.
My husbands gross income is $3,160.
What I’m not understanding is why it’s not based off of being home pay?? That extra $886 we don’t have access to.
I’m also not sure what to do now because I don’t have insurance, we aren’t eligible to be on my husbands insurance until October and even then we can’t afford the family plan because it’s $500 a month and we’re barely getting getting by as it is.
I just need some advice on what to do
(I’m looking for another job but haven’t had any luck)
**************
IM NOT OPPOSED TO WORKING
IM LOOKING FOR A JOB AS WE SPEAK
I QUIT BECAUSE IM ALREADY CONSIDERED HIGH RISK AND MY DOCTOR ADVISED IT
I guess I just want to know what my other options are insurance wise?? If there’s some cheap insurance I could get just for maturity or anything like that???
