Asking baby shower guests to wear a specific colour/colours rude?

I am having a themed shower and would like for my guest to wear either Black, white or the baby gender colour, for aesthetic purposes/photo purposes? 
Is this rude?
Should I just let people wear whatever they want?

It's a little obnoxious, to be honest. Your shower photos should capture the day, however your day is, and your guests should feel welcome. People shouldn't dress in certain colors for your photos as guests to an event.

Personally I don’t think it’s rude some might see it as inconvenient as the shower may not be the only thing/place they need to be that day but I’m sure those who can will maybe don’t make it a demand just ask could you if possible some rather than non is better than nothing after all the rest will blend accordingly

I wouldn’t say rude, just kind of annoying. I know I really struggle with wearing things I am not comfortable with so limiting my options like that would be very bothersome. And I could understand for maybe a wedding but I personally don’t think baby showers need to be all like that. I would probably just not want to go if I’m being totally honest. And I love baby showers lol.

I don’t think it’s rude. Ppl get excited to go to an all white party or a Halloween party, so why can’t they dress up for your themed baby shower? Especially if you let them know in advanced. Also, it’s not like you’re asking them to wear out of the ordinary colors. Those colors are simple and easy.

It's not rude. Most people I know enjoy a themed party. Just be sure to give them enough time to look for something to wear. I just got an invitation to a Halloween themed baby shower and the invitation said "costumes encouraged but not required." Give them the option to participate or not.
