FTM size diapers?

Question

Im due in 2 months. This is my first kid, im just gonna admit i have no idea what size i should start buying. Like i know i heard some newborn size's dont even fit newborns and they go straight to size 1 but idk what should i start buying?
And what should i probably buy in bulk?

I recommend you buy one large box with about 150 diapers ( depends on the brand ) of each size, and then If you need more you can just get more of the same size, thats what I did with my first and doing the same this time. I remember my daughter used size 2 and 4 for a long time...

The doctor says your baby should wet their diaper about 8-10 per day as a newborn. So expect to change that many diapers. They recommend those until the umbilical cord falls off. My daughter outgrew her nb diapers in a week  But you can always ask how big/heavy your baby is towards the end. This way you can calculate roughly how many nb diapers you might need  You can always return them if you keep your receipt. My local store just lets me return them without a receipt  Just make sure first.

I wouldn't really buy bulk until you know what brand you like, and which works best for baby. Some babies get irritated by certain brands. But usually the larger sizes (2-4/5) are worn for a longer time than the smaller ones. If you think people will be buying you some,  for a baby shower or what not, maybe wait until after that to see what you think you'll still need. If you boxes and boxes of size NB and 1s, then you won't need to buy anymore. Plus, I think it's either Walmart and/or Target that will let you trade in unopened bags or boxes for another size. Some people like to stock up before then, just keep any receipts in case you do need to exchange brands as well.

My daughter was in newborns for a month, she was 6.13 when she was born, size ones for about 2 months, size 3 for about 4 months and size 4 for almost a year.

I bought a couple packs of newborn and size 1 before my daughter was born and she ended up staying in newborn tell she was 3 months old. it all depends but you wont really know tell you have the baby. I'll be doing the same thing when this baby is born also. I definently suggest getting at least a couple packs of each.

I would get some newborn. My little guy was actually in them for awhile. But we would just buy them as we needed them so we didn’t have too many.

New born diapers have the cut out for their belly buttons where the umbilical cord was so I would highly suggest getting those until it falls off, they don’t stay in them long but you don’t wanna cause any irritation to them...  keep the newborn packs to a minimum and start with some size 1, they are also labeled on the boxes/bags by pounds
