Moving

I’m not sure if this would be a good place to ask this but I’m needing help and I wanted to see if anyone would have an answer. So currently me and my boyfriend live in Florida with his grandparents. He just got a car but due to bad credit he had to have the car be put in his grandparents name. Me and him want to move back home to North Carolina. Would we be able to take the car and drive it there even though it’s in their names? My boyfriend pays them for the car payment and everything and he’s on their insurance but we just want to know if we would be able to drive the car there and keep it with us. Anyone know?
