Is there anything wrong with putting pictures of your newborn on Facebook?

I’ve seen a lot of people lately choose to not put pictures up of their children until they turn one. I really want to share pictures of my baby. It feels like I’m keeping her a secret, or ashamed of her for not sharing.

Do whatever you decide is best. Some people don’t like to share their children’s pictures online because strangers/undesirables could see it. Other than that, I don’t see why not.

The choice is yours. My husband and I choose not to share pictures of our baby girl on social media. We have a group chat with us, my parents, his parents, our grandparents, our aunts, uncles, cousins, and few friends. That's how we share pictures and videos of our baby girl. We made it clear to everyone that we do not want her pictures online. We're thinking of downloading a photo sharing app where you invite people to see pictures.

I choose not to share pictures on Facebook. However, I have the Lifecake app. It is a photo-sharing app. I can invite whomever I want to see pictures of my boy. Whoever is invited can also share any pictures they have as well. It pretty much makes a giant compilation of all the pictures everyone has, and it is limited to only the people I want to share pictures with

There's a private setting on Facebook so only your friends can see your posts and pictures and even information. You choose what you want people to see. That's on them if they don't want to post baby pictures. I have an instagram that is set to private for that reason. The only people who can see my pictures are the ones I let see them.

There’s nothing wrong with it at all! Some people like to put their lives on FB, some don’t. And just because they don’t, doesn’t mean they’re ashamed. Maybe they just want privacy. But who cares who posts what?! Just do whatever floats your boat 😊⛵️

I don't share pictures of my son on social media. Nobody else does either. It's about safety for us. That being said, I don't judge others for sharing pics of their little ones. Oversharing though, is just obnoxious. I do not need to see 20+ pics a day off a kid that doesn't even know my name!

Personal choice. But I do it because I only have good friends and family on my social media and it’s all private. It’s 80% family and they live all over the place so I don’t see them often. And the other 20% are friends that I actually talk to, not just acquaintances. 
I wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t private and I still had friends from high school that I really don’t talk to.
