Cutting strings shorter
Pretty sure the strings of my IUD are irritating my cervix causing me to bleed quite a bit. During the day I get atleast 2 pads worth of bright red blood. But at night when I'm not moving barely any blood, then within an hour of being awake and mobile I'm bleeding again. My gyno left the strings 2inches long and I can feel them easily when I check. Would shortening them reduce the irritation and how short is safe? I've heard of people getting them cut to half an inch or less but then they can migrate up into the uterus and make it hard to remove. Opinions, experiences please
Thanks
