Won’t sleep in her crib!

The past couple of nights my 1 week old hasn’t settled in her nighttime crib (she’ll sleep in her cot chair which is downstairs during the day) and will only seem to soothe and sleep if she’s laying on my chest....I wonder if she finds it uncomfortable as it’s totally flat and despite having a mattress wonder if it’s a bit hard for her?!

Does anyone have suggestions on how I could make it more comfortable for her to try and see if she’ll sleep on her own tonight?
